Andrew County Jail Overview
Andrew County Jail, also described by county sources as the Andrew County Sheriff's Office and Jail, is operated by the Andrew County Sheriff's Office. The county government sheriff page identifies the same office and lists Sheriff Grant Gillett as the county sheriff. The official Andrew County Jail page gives the main facility details, including the jail administrator, housing layout, visitation rules, property limits, medical request process, commissary, phone access, and grievance procedure.
The jail is a county jail, not a Missouri Department of Corrections prison. It is used for pretrial detainees, local jail inmates, short local commitments, people held for municipal or other local agency matters, and some transfer or detainer situations. Once an Andrew County defendant is sentenced to state prison and moved to the Missouri Department of Corrections, the county roster is no longer the right search channel. At that point, the MODOC Offender Search becomes the better lookup source.
Andrew County Jail Population
The sheriff's jail page identifies Andrew County Jail as an 84-bed county facility. Research did not locate an official Andrew County average daily population table, annual booking total, or public demographic summary by sex, race, charge level, or sentence status. The live sheriff roster showed a changing count during research, so it should be read as a current roster display rather than a certified population report.
The building detail is more complete than the population reporting. Andrew County Jail has seven cell block areas. The sheriff describes three maximum-security holding cell areas, one medium-security area, two lower-risk trustee or work-release areas, and one investigative-hold cell block. The facility also has one isolation cell and one medical cell for high-risk detainees who need added supervision.
Andrew County Jail Custody
Andrew County Jail holds more than Andrew County arrests alone. The sheriff's jail information says the facility houses Andrew County inmates and also detainees for Savannah, Country Club Village, Clinton County, Holt County, City of Independence, Jackson County, Lee's Summit, and Wyandotte County, Kansas. It may also hold people awaiting extradition, transfer, or change of venue, and it may hold someone on an ICE detainer.
Those outside-agency holds matter when reading an Andrew County Jail inmate record. A listed charge or bond amount may not tell the whole release picture. A person can appear on the Andrew County roster while the controlling case, warrant, municipal hold, or detainer belongs to another city, county, state, or federal agency. Confirm custody status with the jail before treating the online bond field as a release instruction.
Andrew County Jail Lookup
The official lookup path starts with the Andrew County Detention Center roster chooser. From there, the current roster shows people in custody at the Andrew County Detention Center, while the release option shows people released within the last 48 hours. The current inmate roster is free and does not require a login. Roster entries can show a mugshot, name, booking number, booking date, charges, bond, and a profile link. The 48-hour release roster adds release date information for recent releases.
- Open the roster chooser and select Current Inmates when the person may still be at Andrew County Jail.
- Use the roster search field with either a first name or last name. If results are broad, compare booking date, charges, and booking photo.
- Open the profile link to review the public booking fields. The sample profile inspected in research showed booking number, age, gender, race, booking date, charges, and bond.
- If no match appears, check the 48-hour release page and then call the jail. A new booking may not appear at once, and a recent release can leave the current list.
- Use MODOC for sentenced state custody, the BOP inmate locator for federal custody, or official ICE lookup channels for immigration custody.
Missouri VINELink is also available through the Missouri VINELink state page for custody notification needs. VINELink is not a replacement for the Andrew County Jail roster, but it can help victims and families track custody notices where the system supports them.
Andrew County Jail Contact
The jail's public contact information should be used for custody confirmation, roster questions, bond questions, and visit scheduling. The sheriff contact page also warns that online messages are not monitored all day and should not be used for urgent custody or emergency needs. For urgent safety issues, use the appropriate emergency or direct law-enforcement channel rather than a web form.

Andrew County Jail Visits
Andrew County Jail has separate on-site and off-site visit paths. On-site visits are scheduled for weekends, and each inmate is allowed two 30-minute visits per week. Visitors must fill out paperwork, schedule the visit, present photo identification, and arrive at least five minutes before the scheduled time. The jail suggests that all visitors for the same inmate come together when possible.
Some people cannot receive regular visits. The jail rules exclude commitments of five days or less, 24-hour investigative holds, writ inmates from other facilities, and lockdown-status inmates. Probation and parole visitors are not allowed. Clergy visits require approval, are limited to one 30-minute visit per week, and should be arranged by calling ahead. Attorney visits are scheduled in advance during weekday attorney visit windows.

Accepted property is narrow. Within 48 hours of incarceration or on visiting days, the jail may accept current prescription medication in an approved container, legal and court papers, up to five loose photos with no nudity or skin exposure, limited plain white clothing items, white winter long johns, bras without wire, a paperback Bible, and one NA or AA item. The jail does not accept books, games, hygiene items, tennis shoes, or other clothing except at staff discretion.

Andrew County Jail Commissary
Money deposits can be made through the sheriff office lobby kiosk or online through the NCIC and InmateCanteen path linked from sheriff materials. The jail guidelines also identify Turnkey as the commissary and phone provider. This means the public setup route and the in-jail commissary/phone system may use different vendor names in official text.
Commissary orders must be made before Sunday at 10:00 p.m. for Tuesday or Thursday delivery unless there is a shipping error. Phone PINs are issued at booking. Inmates may buy phone credit through commissary if the account has more than $1.00 available, and jail phone calls are recorded. If commissary arrives after release, the released person has five business days to claim the property.

| Commissary | Turnkey is named in jail guidelines; orders before Sunday 10:00 p.m. are delivered Tuesday or Thursday unless shipping issues occur. |

Andrew County Jail Medical
Jail staff handle intake questions, medical questions, risk and custody assessment, medication dispensing, suicidal-person monitoring, first aid, warrants, and court-order compliance. Sick-call requests are made through a kiosk to explain symptoms to the jail nurse. The jail lists a $10 nurse fee for a sick-call request entered through the kiosk, while chronic health issues are free. Sudden illness or injury should be reported to the jailer on duty.
Grievances, complaints, questions, and special requests also go through day-room kiosks. A grievance to the Jail Administrator must be filed within 48 hours of the alleged abuse being reported unless it involves sexual abuse or harassment. An appeal to the sheriff must be filed within 48 hours after notice of the Jail Administrator's findings or action. The jail page also states that PREA applies at the facility.
- Classification
- The jail's process for assigning custody level and housing based on risk, medical needs, and other intake information.
- Detainer
- A hold or request from another agency, such as another county or immigration authority.
- Work release
- A lower-risk custody status that may allow approved work outside normal housing controls.
Andrew County Jail Bonds
The Andrew County roster includes a Bond field, but the research did not find bond type, surety/cash distinction, or a per-charge breakdown in the public roster sample. Call Andrew County Jail before sending money or contacting a bonding agent. A listed bond can be affected by another hold, municipal matter, extradition, transfer, sentence, or ICE detainer.
The sheriff jail page lists local qualified bonding agents and says a complete list may be obtained through the Office of State Courts Administrator. The public page should not be read as an endorsement of any agent. For court dates, filed charges, or case status after a booking, use Missouri Case.net or contact the Andrew County Circuit Clerk through the Fifth Judicial Circuit.
Note: A bond amount on the roster does not prove release is available until the jail confirms all holds.
